Lindsey Murphy, IBCLC – Expert Witness

Long Island Breastfeeding’s founder, Lindsey Murphy (IBCLC), is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant specializing in breastfeeding and attachment parenting issues. She provides consulting services to law firms and private clients all over the U.S., and can provide written and oral testimony as an expert witness in a courtroom as it relates to these subjects. Lindsey is able to help parents negotiate custody schedules that are optimal for the welfare of the child, utilizing breastfeeding best practices and attachment parenting philosophy. She also acts as an advocate for mothers who have their breastfeeding rights violated, whether in employment situations that may not allow for the pumping of breastmilk in the work environment, or in situations where breastfeeding has been limited or prevented in a public area.

Lindsey’s home office is located in Massapequa, NY, however she is often able to travel to other destinations to provide legal and expert witness services. Fees for these types of services vary on a case-by-case basis, and are charged based on an hourly consulting rate.  Lindsey provides free initial consultations for clients who are interested in discussing legal and expert witness services, which can be held in-person, on the phone, or via Skype.  If you would like to set up an initial consultation, please call Long Island Breastfeeding’s office at (516)660-0484 or send a request through the contact page.

WHY IS THERE SUCH HIGH-DEMAND TO WORK WITH A LONG ISLAND BREASTFEEDING PROFESSIONAL?

Because Long Island Breastfeeding does not believe in ‘one-size fits all’ care and everything we do is evidence-based and individualized, our clients feel they have every tool available to them (which they do!) combined with the highest level of support and the least amount of judgment.

Our approach considers your specific situation and resources, and combines that with evidence-based care. We then incorporate YOUR family’s particular needs and wants, ultimately meeting YOUR definition of success.

BREASTFEEDING HELP DURING PREGNANCY?!

YUP! Even though breastfeeding is natural, it does not always mean it’s easy. Hospitals and pediatricians are not always certified in lactation- many mothers are surprised to learn that their doctors, while supportive of breastfeeding, do not know how to be supportive of Breastfeeding Management. Taking a breastfeeding course while pregnant and aligning your support system before baby arrives can make all the difference!

WHEN SHOULD I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

It depends on the service, but the sooner the better! Long Island Breastfeeding sees women at any gestation or any time after delivery.
